World Cup Star Etebo Jets Out To England For Pre-Season Training With Stoke City
Published: July 14, 2018Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Stoke City manager Gary Rowett will begin observing Nigeria international Oghenekaro Etebo on Monday, July 16.
The Super Eagles number eight has been holidaying in Warri after representing the country at the 2018 World Cup, but will jet out to Lagos on Saturday morning from Warri, before flying to the United kingdom on Sunday.
It is envisaged that Rowett will name Etebo on the Potters roster for the trip to Herzlake, where they will hold a six-day training camp and play friendly matches ahead of their first competitive game of the new season against Leeds United on August 5.
Ahead of Etebo's trip to England, he has been maintaining his fitness by training with grassroots club Lord Honour FC, the team he represented before he was spotted by Warri Wolves.
The versatile midfielder is confirmed to be out of today's friendly vs Walsall and is likely to make his debut next week when Stoke City face Bochum, Meppen and Hamburger SV in friendly games.
Etebo starred for the Nigeria team at the World Cup, starting all the three matches they contested before they were eliminated from the tournament.
