Etebo Picks Favorite Jersey Number At Stoke City, Trains With Teammates In Germany
Published: July 16, 2018Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Oghenekaro Etebo will wear the number eight jersey at EFL Championship outfit Stoke City in the new season.
Last season, the shirt number was worn by former Liverpool and England international Glen Johnson who has been released by the Potters following their demotion to the second tier.
Honduras midfielder Wilson Palacios was allocated the shirt number before Johnson joined Stoke City in 2015.
Etebo rewrote history for the Nigerian national teams when he became the first player to score four goals for the Olympic side in their 5-4 victory over Japan in the 2016 Summer Games, wearing a jersey with an eight on the back.
At this summer's football festival in Russia, the ex-Warri Wolves star suited up with the number eight kit.
Etebo arrived in the United Kingdom early this morning, just in time to be named in the Stoke City roster for their training camp in Germany.
The Super Eagle will train for the first time with his new teammates on Monday evening.
