Former Arsenal Star Akpom Added To PAOK Champions League Roster
Published: August 07, 2018
Former Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom is in line to make his competitive debut for Greek Super League outfit PAOK when they take on Spartak Moscow in the third qualifying round of the Champions League on Wednesday, August 8.
Ahead of tomorrow's clash at Stadio Toumbas (ThessalonĂki), PAOK added Akpom's name to the roster submitted to UEFA.
It remains to be seen if the Nigerian will be handed his debut by manager Lucescu as he only started training with his new employers on Sunday, August 5.
Before joining PAOK, the Hale End Academy product did not feature in any pre-season game for the Gunners, meaning he might not be in tiptop condition fitness wise.
Whilst at the Gunners, Akpom was named in their match day squad on nine occasions for European matches, including three in the Champions League, but was an unused substitute in all the games.
PAOK beat Noah Okafor's Basel 5-1 on aggregate to set up a meeting with Spartak Moscow in the third qualifying round of the Champions League.
