Nigeria Player Ratings Vs China : Who Impressed As Falconets Reach Last Eight U20 WWC
Published: August 13, 2018The Falconets sealed their place in the quarter finals of the 2018 U20 FIFA Women's World Cup with a 1-1 draw against China on Monday.
Chiamaka Nnadozie : Excellent display for the teenage shot stopper. Went through the motions and dealt with many sticky situations. She was excellent when dealing with one-on-one situations. She also prevented another goal with her decent punch late in the match. 8/10
Opeyemi Sunday : The Sunshine Queens player was a suspect at right back, she didn't exactly protect her area confidently. She was caught out a couple of times as she struggled with the pace of the Chinese. 5/10
Joy Duru :Duru often ghosted forward and tracked back will. She ran like a Cheetah and was effective for the Falconets. 7.5/10
Mary Ologbosere : Mary struggled once again as a central defender. She made up by covering up for her teammates at the back. 5/10
Chidinma Okeke : Fans clearly felt her commanding presence. She did not put a foot wrong and led the defense admirably. 6/10
Christy Ucheibe : She did show in courage and exciting runs. With simple passes and timely interceptions, she kept things tight in the middle in such a graceful manner she was the reason Bashirat Amoo and Peace Efih had acres of space to attack. 7/10
Peace Efih : If this was about enthusiasm, Efih would score an easy 10. Enthusiasm she showed, but maybe a little too much in her touches and complaints. She was everywhere looking to exploit the mistakes of the opposition. 7.5/10
Bashirat Amoo : She switched positions, moved the ball well and also got into advanced scoring positions. 6/10
Rasheedat Ajibade : Likened to Asisat Oshoala, Ajibade showed that she might not quite be on the Quanjin striker's level but she possessed the ball well and cut into the Chinese defence with so much ease from the wing. Her endeavour led to theĀ last-gasp goal. 6.5/10
Igboamalu Grace : The forward was hardworking upfront and fought for the ball. She almost scored with a superb header in the second half. 6.5/10
Monday Gift : Flop of the match. She was not just ready for this game and missed her team's chances before making making for Anam Imo. 3/10
The Substitutes
Anam Imo : A lot was expected of her but she cast a lonely figure upfront. She was not given the supply she would have wanted. A quite day in the office it was for Imo. 4/10
Aishat Bello : Bello was very mobile, possessed the ball superbly, took on and displaced her markers remarkably well and still found time to make piercing passes and shots on goal. Her assist resulted in the equaliser. 7/10
