Nigerian Midfielder Likened To Yaya Toure Scores 25-Yard Stunner For Chelsea U18s vs Brighton
Published: October 06, 2018National champions Chelsea are third in the U18 Premier League standings with 16 points following their 2-1 win over Brighton & Hove at American Express Elite Football Performance Centre (Lancing, West Sussex) on Saturday afternoon.
Young right-back Ayo Tanimowo started for the Seagulls, Faustino Anjorin of Chelsea entered into the fray in the 68th minute while Jordan Aina was omitted from the match day squad.
The game was deadlocked until the 76th minute when Anjorin gave the visitors the lead with a brilliant strike from 25 yards out.
An England U18 international, Anjorin has scored some eye-catching goals for club and country this season, and has drawn comparisons with ex-Manchester City star Yaya Toure due to his box-to-box attributes.
His strike today against Brighton & Hove was his sixth goal for The Blues and the Young Lions this season.
The Seagulls first-year scholar Tanimowo featured on the pitch for the full 90 minutes.
