Published: November 02, 2018Everton U18s lost their first match of the 2018-2019 season after they were beaten 4-3 in a Merseyside derby against Liverpool at Liverpool’s Academy Ground on Thursday evening.
Nigerian-born winger Korede Adedoyin took his tally to five goals in his last three games for the Toffees in the U18 Premier League after scoring a brace against The Reds.
On two minutes, Duncan opened the scoring for the home team but both teams were level at the break with Adedoyin restoring parity in the 38th minute.
His delicate dink beat Liverpool goalkeeper Vitezslav Jaros after receiving a fine pass from Hunt.
Glatzel and Clarkson scored in the 47th and 55th minute respectively to give Liverpool a two-goal cushion but Paul Tai's side were back in it when Adedoyin's headed goal cut the deficit to 3-2 in the 59th minute before Phillips made it 3-3.Â
The 17-year-old Nigerian netted a hat-trick for Everton against Newcastle United U18s on October 20.
Adedoyin has pledged his international future to his country of birth Nigeria ahead of England, where he was raised.
