Arsenal 1 Liverpool 1 : Iwobi Provides Assist For Lacazette Super Goal As Gunners Unbeaten Run Continues
Published: November 03, 2018Alexandre Lacazette's 82nd minute goal earned Arsenal a share of the spoils in a Premier League clash against Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday evening.
Nigeria international Alex Iwobi surprisingly dropped to the bench having started the last three games in the topflight prior to today's game.
It was goalless at the interval though Mkhitaryan, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette came close to breaking the deadlock for the Gunners; Firmino and Virgil Van Dijk for the visitors.
Senegalese Sadio Mane thought he had scored in the 18th minute but the goal was ruled out for offside.
James Milner stayed composed and gave Liverpool a 1 - 0 lead after Sadio Mane's cross was parried by Leno into his path in the 61st minute.
The introduction of Iwobi in the 68th minute sparked more life into Arsenal's attack and the Super Eagles star provided the assist for Lacazette's equalizer when his pass was finished off by the Frenchman.
In the provisional standings, Liverpool lead the way with 27 points, four more than fourth placed Arsenal.
