'I Was Disappointed I Was Not Playing' - Arsenal Product Akpom Reacts After Maiden PAOK Goal
Published: November 12, 2018Former Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom was over the moon after netting his first goal in PAOK colours as they claimed a 2-1 win over Panaitolikos on game week 10 in the Greek Super League on Sunday.
The Nigeria Football Federation target admitted that he was worried over his lack of playing opportunities, having logged only 98 minutes from a possible 1,620 minutes prior to yesterday's fixture at Stadio Toumbas (ThessalonĂki).
''I was happy with today's goal because the previous one was canceled as offside and of course because we won and we are at the top of the league,'' Akpom told NOVA Greece.
''I did not feel so well in the past, because I did not have the time I wanted and now I'm starting to get into the team!''
Speaking more about his limited game time, Akpom stated : ''I was disappointed when I was not playing and I was trying for the best ...
''My coach conveyed that he likes me as a player and I have to keep improving and I said I will try as much as possible''.
Akpom, who was on the books of Arsenal for sixteen years, netted his first goal for PAOK after eight games.
