18-Year-Old Nigerian Defender Named In Tottenham Hotspur Match Day Squad Against Burnley
Published: December 15, 2018London-born Nigerian central defender Timothy Eyoma has been included in Tottenham Hotspur match day squad for a Premier League match for the first time in his young career.
Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino could hand a debut to the youngster off the bench against Burnley at Wembley Stadium this afternoon.
Eyoma was part of the Spurs first team that traveled to the United States for pre-season and impressed against AC Milan, helping goalkeepers Vorm and Gazzaniga to post a shutout in a 1-0 win.
A World Cup winner with the Young Lions at last year's Fifa U17 World Cup, he was an unused substitute as Tottenham beat West Ham in the League Cup back in October 2018.
The 18-year-old is comfortable on the ball and possesses the ability to read the game, and was arguably the best player on the pitch in Tottenham U19s 2-0 win over Barcelona in the UEFA Youth League on Tuesday.
Timothy Eyoma has also featured for England U15s, U16s, U18s and U19s.
