The former Hapoel Beer Sheva man made it 2-0 a minute after the restart with Onazi providing the assist.
A division lower, ex-Flying Eagles star Chukwuma Akabueze, otherwise known as Bentley, saved Boluspor from defeat after scoring their equaliser with a header in the 32nd minute in a 1-1 draw vs Altinordu at the Bolu Ataturk Stadyumu (Bolu).
Finally, Karim Onisiwo's 38th minute goal was only a consolation for Mainz after they were hammered 4-1 by RB Leipzig on game week 15 in the German Bundesliga.
