Ambrose Notches Secondary Assist In First Appearance In A Derby County Shirt
Efe Ambrose made his first appearance in a Derby County shirt as their U23 team thrashed Bristol City 8-1 in the Premier League Cup on Sunday afternoon.

Ahead of a potential debut for the Rams first team, the Nigeria international kept up his fitness by playing for the U23s and put in a good shift against the Robins.

Cameron Cresswell and Jayden Mitchell-Lawson grabbed the headlines after scoring four and three goals respectively.

The former Celtic star was involved in the buildup to Derby's third goal when he made a marauding run from the back and passed the ball to Louie Sibley, who set up Nigerian attacking midfielder Josh Shonibare in the 20th minute.

Shonibare has now scored in his last three matches in the Premier League Cup, having got on the scoresheet against Plymouth Argyle and Aston Villa.

The 20-year-old was replaced by Arsenal product Aaron Eyoma at half-time while Ambrose lasted 61 minutes on the pitch.
