Kano-Born Austria U18 Striker Adamu Scores Brace For FC Liefering
Published: August 04, 2019
FC Liefering's Austria U18 international Chukwubuike Adamu is among the leading scorers in the Austrian 2. Liga courtesy of his brace in the 4-4 draw against Austria Klagenfurt at Karawankenblick Stadion on Sunday evening.
Born in Kano, Nigeria, Adamu has had a fine start to the 2019-2020 campaign, netting in the opening day fixture vs SKU Amstetten before adding to his tally this evening.
Klagenfurt's Okan Aydin opened the scoring in the 5th minute only for Tobias Anselm to restore parity for the visitors in the 20th minute, before Adamu made it 2-1 in favor of Liefering in the third minute of first half stoppage time.
The Nigerian scored again with 15 minutes left on the clock to give his side a 4-3 lead but the opponents got a share of the spoils with a late equaliser from Markoutz.
Adamu was prolific at scoring goals while playing for the youth teams of Red Bull Salzburg with an impressive tally of 42 goals in 57 matches for the U16 and U18 teams.
Although the 18-year-old has played six games for Austria U18s, he is not provisionally cap-tied to the European nation.
