Enyimba's Ifeanyi Anaemena Identifies Three Qualities Needed To Make It In Super Eagles
Published: November 19, 2019Enyimba star Ifeanyi Anaemena was handed a late call-up to the Super Eagles for their recent Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Benin and Lesotho after Lokomotiv Moscow's Brian Idowu withdrew from the squad owing to passport issues.
However, the central defender was a non-playing substitute in the two games against the Squirrels and Crocodiles.
Nigeria Football Federation President Amaju Pinnick recently hinted that fresh terms will be offered to Gernot Rohr provided that he accepts a clause be included in his contract
to monitor the Nigeria Professional Football League and scout for
talents.
Anaemena has identified three qualities needed by NPFL players to make it in the Super Eagles if they invited by the German in subsequent matches.
''It is a great opportunity calling a player in the NPFL to represent the Super Eagles. I know it's a lot to do with me and its going to boost the league itself,'' he said.
''It is high standard here. If you are not mentally tough, if you are not aggressive, if you are not committed you cannot make it here.''
