Nigeria's Joint-Top Scorer In Europe Emerges As Transfer Target For Club Brugge
Published: December 13, 2019Heracles Almelo star Cyriel Dessers has emerged as a transfer target for Belgian First Division A side Club Brugge.
Voetbal24.be citing Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws says Club Brugge are looking to sign a striker who scores plenty of goals and the Belgian-Nigerian fits the bill.
Midfielder Hans Vanaken is Club Brugge's top scorer in the league with 9 goals, followed by David Okereke with seven, but the Nigeria U23 star has fired blanks in his last four league matches after a brilliant start to the season.
Dessers is open to the idea of joining Club Brugge as he wants to show his qualities to the Belgian public.
Although the 25-year-old is valued in the region of one million euros by transfer market experts, Heracles Almelo could demand more money after taking the Dutch Eredivisie by storm in the ongoing campaign.
If his move to Club Brugge materializes, he would be battling Okereke and Super Eagles star Emmanuel Dennis for a spot in attack.
Sporting Lisbon as well as Cagliari have also been credited with an interest in the former Oud-Heverlee Leuven, St-Truiden and Union FC Rutten youth-teamer.
With 11 goals in 16 games, Dessers is Nigeria's joint-top scorer in Europe, an honour he shares with Partizan's Umar Sadiq.
