Catch up on the Nigeria-eligible players that were on target for their respective clubs in matches across Europe on Saturday, December 21.

We begin in the English Football League. Fulham returned to winning ways with a hard fought 2-1 victory against fellow promotion candidates Leeds United at Craven Cottage.

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Josh Onomah netted the game winning goal for Fulham in the 69th minute, smashing the ball home after it dropped for him, his first goal for the club he joined in the summer.

In the League One, a 56th minute penalty converted by Fejiri Okenabirhie gave Shrewsbury Town a 1-0 win against Blackpool at Bloomfield Road.

Still in the division, Rotherham United and Fleetwood Town played out a 2-2 draw at the New York Stadium, with former Flying Eagles invitee Freddie Ladapo getting on the scoresheet for the home team in the 62nd minute, assisted by Matthew Olosunde.

Crewe Alexandra's Norwegian-Nigerian frontman Chuma Anene inspired Crewe Alexandra to a 5-1 rout of Stevenage in a League Two clash at The Lamex Stadium by scoring a brace.

Anene opened the scoring at minute 29 then made it 4-0 on 65 minutes, taking his tally to 5 goals in his last 3 matches in all tournaments.

In the German Bundesliga, Dutch-Nigerian teenager Joshua Zirkzee made it two goals in as many games playing as a substitute as Bayern Munich left it late to beat Wolfsburg 2-0 at the Allianz Arena.

Zirkzee was introduced in the 83rd minute and scored the go-ahead goal two minutes later, just as he did on his Bundesliga debut vs at Freiburg on Wednesday.

In the Netherlands, Nigerian Federation target Cyriel Dessers broke his personal record for goals in half a season after finding the net for Heracles Almelo vs SC Heerenveen (1-1) at the Abe Lenstra Stadion.

Dessers' 54th minute effort was his 12th league goal, surpassing a personal record he first set during the 2016-2017 season while playing in the Dutch second-tier for NAC Breda.

In the Turkish Super Lig, Super Eagles striker Olarenwaju Kayode was the star of the show for the second successive game, scoring a brace and setting up one as Gaziantep FK beat Kasimpasa 4-3 in a seven-goal thriller in Istanbul.

It took Kayode less than six minutes to open the scoring, he delivered the ball to Ozer to make it 2-1 on 21 minutes, before scoring from the spot just before half-time.

The Shakhtar Donetsk loanee was also involved in three goals (2 goals, 1 assist) in a 3-0 win vs Kayserispor on December 15.

Still in Turkey, Rizespor registered a 2-0 road win against Yeni Malatyaspor, with Rio Olympics bronze medalist Aminu Umar scoring in the 72nd minute.
