Scottish Club Hearts Linked With Audacious Move For Ex-CAF Most Promising Talent
Published: December 28, 2019Scottish Premiership side Heart of Midlothian are being linked with an audacious move for 2015 CAF Most Promising Talent of the Year, Oghenekaro Etebo.
Edinburgh Evening News is reporting that Hearts are looking at four Stoke City players ahead of the January transfer window, with Etebo among the players being targeted.
With the Nigeria international costing the Potters six million pounds when he joined the club from Feirense, Hearts may not have the financial muscle to sign the central midfielder on a permanent deal but a loan move remains a possibility.
Former Hearts caretaker manager Austin MacPhee was at the Riverside Stadium on Friday, December 20 to run the rule over potential signings.
However, he couldn't monitor Etebo against Middlesbrough as the Super Eagles star was not listed in the matchday eighteen.
The 24-year-old has fallen out of favour with Potters boss O’Neill since recovering from a muscle injury, making only two matchday squads and failing to appear off the bench in both matches.
Etebo had a fantastic season during the 2018-2019 campaign, starting 29 Championship games and winning Stoke's Player of the Year award.
