Exclusive: Tottenham Loanee With Caps For England Youth Team Open To Representing Nigeria
Published: January 05, 2020Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Tottenham Hotspur-owned midfielder Luke Amos has refused to rule out the possibility of representing the Nigerian National Team in the near future.
A week ago, shortly after Queens Park Rangers faced Hull City in the Championship, Amos was sounded out about the prospect of turning out for the three-time African champions and he gave a positive response.
The 22-year-old has become the second Queens Park Rangers player that is open to playing for the Super Eagles after Nigerian-born winger Bright Osayi-Samuel, who is having another outstanding season.
The international future of Eberechi Eze remains covered in mist after he stated late November that he wants to continue to focus on his club career which is going well so far.
Although Amos has earned two caps for England U18 team, he can play for the Super Eagles straightaway, without applying to FIFA for a change of association, as the games were non-competitive games.
Described as a strong central midfielder, Amos has good passing and tackling skills and can also be deployed as a deep-lying playmaker.
He made his English Premier League debut for parent club, Tottenham Hotspur on the opening day of the 2018-2019 campaign at Newcastle United and has been included in Spurs' matchday squads for the Champions League and League Cup in the past.
