Exclusive : Manchester United's Nigerian Defender Wanted By Tottenham Hotspur
Published: January 06, 2020Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Nigerian starlet Junior Nkwonta is preparing to bid farewell to English Premier League giants Manchester United.
Nkwonta has to look for a new employer ahead of the 2020-2021 season as he is one of the Academy players not offered a scholarship by the Red Devils.
All U17 players are required to start next season on a
scholarship arrangement before they are permitted to sign their first
professional contract on or after their 17th birthday.
A lot of Premier League clubs have offered Nkwonta trials but he has agreed to train with Tottenham Hotspur first with a view to a potential deal.
The promising teenager was named to the Manchester United squad for the prestigious SuperCupNI (Junior Section) in 2019.
Nkwonta has been described as a mobile center back who is very strong on the ball, technically good and may have a future playing as a defensive midfielder or right-back in the long term.
