Published: February 04, 2020Former Nigeria international Odion Ighalo is poised to make his debut in European competitions, thirteen years after he moved to Europe from Julius Berger, Lagos, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Ighalo has been named to Manchester United's updated Europa League squad list along with another January signing Bruno Fernandes and will play with the number 25 jersey.
Should he feature against Club Brugge on February 20, it will be his first ever game in a European competition.
Including the Primavera, Ighalo has featured in at least thirteen competitions for his foreign clubs, with none of the appearances coming in Europe.
The 30-year-old has appearances under his belt in the Premier League, La Liga, Italian Serie A, Copa del Rey, Emirates FA Cup and Coppa Italia.
Other attack-minded players named in the United squad for the knockout rounds of the Europa League are Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Mason Greenwood, Tahith Chong and D'Mani Bughail-Mellor.
Teenage strikers of Nigerian parentage Shola Shoretire and Deji Sotona have not been added to Manchester United's List B.
