Bordeaux Coach Warns Super Eagles Winger Kalu To Change His Ways
Published: February 05, 2020Speaking at Tuesday's pre-match press conference ahead of the meeting against Brest, Bordeaux manager Paulo Sousa has criticized Samuel Kalu for his attitude and lack of professionalism.
The Nigeria international has been left out of Bordeaux's 20-man provisional roster which includes Josh Maja for today's match at Stade Francis-Le Blé (Brest) because of fitness issues.
Sousa has warned Kalu to change his ways if he is to be considered for subsequent matches.
In quotes carried by Bordeaux dedicated website girondins33.com, the Portuguese football tactician said : "Samuel Kalu cannot yet train normally with the group, he has a knee problem.
"We did an exam (MRI) and he has nothing, but he is in pain and cannot train He just started running again yesterday (Monday), so we have to reinstate him."
Sousa went on : "But we are waiting for him to change his mental attitude and his level of commitment in training to have a place to play again on the team.
"He does not change his mentality, there is no place for him during our matches . But it is the same for the others."
In 19 outings across all competitions for Bordeaux this term, Kalu has scored only one goal and set up two others.
