Osimhen On Target For Lille But Stretchered Off With Apparent Muscle Injury
Red-hot Lille hitman Victor Osimhen enjoyed mixed fortunes in his side's 2-0 win over Angers in a Ligue 1 game staged at Stade Raymond Kopa on Friday night, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

The Super Eagles striker was stretchered off the pitch in the 78th minute and the initial prognosis indicates that he suffered a muscle injury.

As has been the case for much of this season, the youngster was having a great time prior to his affliction, having opened the scoring in the 14th minute, finishing with aplomb after creating space in the opposition final third.

It is worth noting that the effort was his 12th league goal, 18th in all competitions as well as three assists to boot.

Osimhen was also among the goals in Lille's last league travel as they continue to hunt down Champions League qualification, a 2-1 win over Strasbourg on February 1st.

The former Wolfsburg striker will undergo further examinations on Saturday to determine the severity of his injury, however, he is now rated as doubtful for the visit of Marseille next Sunday.
