Andy Cole Reveals Man Utd Extending Ighalo's Stay Is Down To Their Business In The Summer
Published: May 08, 2020Manchester United legend Andy Cole believes Odion Ighalo has impressed since his arrival at Old Trafford but opted to be non-committal when he was quizzed on if United should retain the striker beyond the expiration of his contract.
Allnigeriasoccer.com exclusively reported four days ago that the Red Devils signing the former Nigeria international permanently hinges on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's pursuit of Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho and Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane.
And Cole is thinking along the same lines by revealing that Ighalo extending his stay is down to other players being targeted by Manchester United in the summer.
"It’s not my decision whether or not they should keep him. But I have been really pleased with him and he’s done well.," Cole told Goal.com.
"He has scored when he has come in to the team and he’s doing what they ask of him but ultimately it’s going to be down to what other business United want to do in the summer and how it fits in with that."
Ighalo has scored four goals in eight appearances for United since his debut against Chelsea while producing an assist.
