Chelsea's Anjorin Among Three Nigeria-Eligible Whizkids In The Running For 2020 Golden Boy
Three Nigeria-eligible whizkids have been nominated for the prestigious Golden Boy, awarded by Italian sports daily Tuttosport to the best U21 player in Europe, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

Chelsea attacking midfielder Faustino Anjorin, Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka and Red Bull Salzburg striker Karim Adeyemi are in the running for the accolade and have to see off competition from 97 other talented youngsters.

Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland, Eduardo Camavinga (Rennes), Alphonso Davies (Bayern Munich), Ansu Fati (Barcelona), Mason Greenwood (Manchester United), Gabriel Martinelli (Arsenal), Rodrygo (Real Madrid) and Vinicius Jr (Real Madrid) are among the favourites for the award.

Poole-born Anjorin made his professional debut this season in a League Cup clash against Grimsby Town in September, before playing his first game in the Premier League against Everton in March.

Saka needs no introduction as he is part and parcel of the Gunners first team and showed his versatility by playing at left-back for most of the season after Sead KolaĊĦinac and Kieran Tierney sustained injuries.

Another 18-year-old, Adeyemi is enjoying an incredible season in Austria, with a hand in 28 goals (12 goals, 16 assists) in 27 appearances for Red Bull Salzburg teams.

Previous winners of the Golden Boy include Wayne Rooney, Lionel Messi, Cesc Fabregas, Paul Pogba and Kylian Mbappe.
