Former Tottenham Hotspur Youth-Teamer Sonupe Among 22 Players Released By Stevenage
Published: June 18, 2020Former Tottenham Hotspur youth-team star Emmanuel Sonupe is among twenty-two players released by EFL League Two club Stevenage after the 2019-2020 season was brought to an early conclusion.
Stevenage have published their retained and released list and they have informed that the Anglo-Nigerian is not contracted to the club for next season.
The 24-year-old spent four years at the Tottenham Academy, from where he moved to Northampton Town in 2016, followed by spells at Kidderminster Harriers and Stevenage, whom he joined in the summer of 2018.
He is departing Stevenage after fifty-one appearances across two seasons, and is credited with four goals in all competitions.
Sonupe has two caps for England U18s and was on target on his full debut in a 2-1 loss to Croatia on March 5, 2014.
Stevenage are one of the teams in danger of being relegated to the National League after finishing bottom of the table with 28.11, based on weighted points-per-game.
