Ndidi Reveals What Leicester Coach Said To Get Their Confidence Back Ahead Sheffield Utd Clash
Published: July 16, 2020Leicester City continue their battle for a Champions League spot when they tackle European-chasing Sheffield United at the King Power Stadium this evening.
The Foxes faltered in their last Premier League game, losing 4-1 to relegation-threatened Bournemouth, and the importance of winning today against the Blades is paramount given that they have to face Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United in their last two fixtures.
Nigeria international Wilfred Ndidi has been named in the starting lineup against Sheffield United, while his international teammate Kelechi Iheanacho is on the bench.
Speaking of the mood in the dressing room on the back of their last loss, Ndidi told Sky Sports : "It was a difficult one but I think we've moved past it, we focus on this one. It is something we don't dwell in so we just move on."
The Foxes have a difficult run-in and manager Brendan Rodgers has been talking to the players to get their confidence back in the dressing room.
Ndidi added : "HeĀ is just letting us to believe in ourselves, we are a good team, good group. It is just we believing in ourselves and stay focused , and just play the games as they come.
"Focus on the next game instead of thinking how many games left. So that's a positive talk for us to take to the next game."
Leicester City sit in fourth place at the moment and will maintain their position if they beat Sheffield United, before their direct competitor for a Champions League spot, Manchester United tackle Crystal Palace tonight.
