'Who Wouldn't Like To Play For Porto?' - Santa Clara's Sanusi Reacts To Links With Portuguese Giants
Published: August 20, 2020
Santa Clara left-back Zaidu Sanusi has reacted to speculation linking him with a summer move to Portuguese giants Porto.
The defender is not hiding his desire to play for one of the top clubs in European football Porto, winners of the UEFA Champions League on two different occasions.
Sanusi caught the eye in the Portuguese Primeira Liga last season after forcing his way into Santa Clara's starting line-up in January 2020, and the club from Ponta Delgada are struggling to keep hold of the Nigerian, with several clubs eyeing a move for the 23-year-old.
In quotes carried by Desporto citing O Jogo, Sanusi said : "I am asked if I am going to FC Porto, but I leave everything to my manager.
"Who wouldn't like to play for FC Porto? A coach like Sérgio Conceição can help me to improve."
Last season, Sanusi, who began his career in Portugal with Gil Vicente, totaled 27 appearances in all competitions for Santa Clara.
