'You Saw My Reaction' - NFF Boss Pinnick Revisits Super Eagles Dramatic 4-4 Draw Vs Sierra Leone
Published: December 31, 2020Nigeria Football Federation supremo Amaju Pinnick has revisited the Super Eagles dramatic 4-4 draw with Sierra Leone in a 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier held at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City last month.
Pundits and fans alike thought the Super Eagles were on their way to a record win after scoring four goals without reply inside 29 minutes, only for the three-time African champions to throw away their lead to draw with the West African minnows.
Pinnick went into the dressing room in the wake of the disappointing draw and blasted the Super Eagles players, even threatening to axe some of the players from the squad.
The football administrator revealed the Technical Committee of the Federation has submitted its report on the game but the document is classified so he won't reveal the details.
Speaking to Channels Television, Pinnick said : "You saw my reaction and it was quite spontaneous and I didn't want to hold back. We have a very special bond with the Super Eagles and I talk to my players every day, and I make them understand that there are things that you cannot negotiate.
"Now coming to that game the Technical Committee did their review and we submitted it to the Ministry.
"There are some reports that you cannot divulge to the public because technical reports are like security reports because if you divulge it your opponents tomorrow will use it.
"We have seen some of the things that affected those games. What we can tell the public, let us look at the first 29 minutes of the game that we scored those goals I think these are some of the best moments in terms of football artistry in Nigeria.
"What we are trying to do is to replicate those four goals in the full time, why can't we continue with those goals and in under 29 minutes score another four goals, score another four goals till the end of the game.
"Those are some of the defects that we have noticed in the technical report and these are the areas we are working on."

Nigeria ended 2020 without a win in their four international fixtures, losing to Algeria before playing consecutive draws with Tunisia and Sierra Leone (2).
