Real Madrid star reacts to Musiala's decision to choose Germany over Nigeria, England
Published: March 01, 2021Real Madrid attacking midfielder Toni Kroos is delighted about the decision of Bayern Munich super talent Jamal Musiala to commit his international future to Germany over England and Nigeria.
This month, the Chelsea academy product could make his senior debut for the four-time world champions and could be playing alongside Kroos in midfield.
Joachim Löw's team face Iceland (March 25), Romania (March 28) and North Macedonia (March 31) and Musiala would become cap-tied to Germany for life if he features in all the matches since he's an U21 player.
"I have to admit that I haven't seen him play that often. Everything you hear and read seems to be very, very good," Kroos told Bild podcast Bayern Insider.
"Because he is also extremely young, you definitely haven't done anything wrong. If this is really the kind of player they are talking about, then Germany can certainly be happy that they are he chose Germany."
Though Kroos has kind words for Musiala, he refused to predict whether the teenager would be included in Germany's squad for the 2020 European Championship.
"What is of course a quality feature is that at that age he has already been playing at Bayern. You can't do that if you can't do anything," he added.
Musiala, who is eligible for the Super Eagles through his father, has recorded 27 appearances for Bayern's first team in all competitions, scoring four goals.
