FC Twente have April 30 deadline to activate purchase clause in contract of Benfica-owned RB Ebuehi
FC Twente have been given a deadline of April 30 to activate the purchase clause inserted into the deal taking Tyronne Ebuehi to the Dutch Eredivisie side in the summer transfer window.

The Nigeria international's injury problems that plagued him for two seasons at Benfica are well and truly over, with the right-back starting all but one of the matches contested by the Enschede outfit in 2020-2021.

It remains to be seen whether or not FC Twente will sign Ebuehi permanently as they are operating on tight resources.

Jan Streuer, technical director of the Reds, has confirmed that contract talks with the Super Eagles star have not been held.

"We are not only dealing with a transfer fee, but also with the player's salary. We still have to talk to Ebuehi,"
Streuer explained to Voetbal International.

He added : "Our budget will not allow a lot of money to be made available for transfer fees in the coming months. We will have to be creative again".

Ebuehi has been named in the latest Nigeria squad for the upcoming 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against the Republic of Benin and Lesotho.
