Anglo-Nigerian striker Folarin Balogun signs new four-year deal with Arsenal
Published: April 14, 2021Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that American-born Nigerian striker Folarin Balogun has ended speculation over his future by signing a new contract with Premier League club Arsenal.
On Friday, April 9, the Hale End Academy product put pen to paper on a new four-year deal that will keep him at the Emirates Stadium until the end of the 2024-2025 season.
An announcement confirming Balogun's new deal is imminent as the talented attacker was interviewed by Arsenal's official website about his new contract yesterday, Tuesday.
Arsenal technical director Edu and manager Mikel Arteta played a massive role in convincing the England youth international to pen a new contract even when it seemed he was destined to depart the north London club at the end of this season.
Arteta and Edu let him know that there's a pathway to break into the first team.
Balogun was eager to play first team football for a top-five European League club as he felt that the U23s was a bit easy for him
The 19-year-old was ready to join a German Bundesliga or French Ligue 1 club in the summer before he was convinced to extend his stay.
