Slavia Prague coach stresses importance of Olayinka as Super Eagles striker starts vs Arsenal
Published: April 15, 2021Slavia Prague coach Jindřich Trpisovsky stressed the importance of Peter Olayinka to his side before the Czech champions take on Arsenal in the Europa League on Thursday evening.
The Nigeria international striker had been doubtful to face the Gunners but has been passed fit enough to be named in the starting lineup.
Olayinka has impressive numbers in European competitions since he debuted in the 2015-2016 campaign wearing the colours of Albanian side KF Skënderbeu.
Making the starting lineup against Arsenal in the first leg took his total appearances in Europe to 40, with 28 of those games coming in the Europa League proper.
Trpisovsky told reporters at the pre-match press conference : "Peter Olayinka has a lot behind him and is very experienced.
"He went through great European struggles with us, where he was also productive. His style is important to us."
Olayinka has directly participated in five goals (3 goals and 2 assists) in ten Europa League matches this season.
