Oshoala passes late fitness test ahead of Barcelona's UWCL Clash vs PSG but starts on the bench
Published: April 25, 2021Lluís Cortés, manager of Barcelona Femení, has included Nigeria captain Asisat Oshoala in his squad list for this afternoon's UEFA Women's Champions League semifinal clash against Paris Saint-Germain at the Stade Municipal Georges Lefèvre.
Today will make it three weeks the last time the former Arsenal and Liverpool striker has been included in a matchday squad, against Levante, where she was a non-playing substitute.
It will be recalled that Oshoala had her right foot operated on April 6, and the Blaugranes did not state her scheduled recovery time.
At 1211 hours on Sunday, Barcelona confirmed that Oshoala has received the medical green light to take to the pitch against the Parisians, but she is among the ten players on the substitutes bench.
This season, the 26-year-old has featured in six Champions League matches, scoring four goals, while she has mustered 15 goals in the Primera División Femenina.
The winner of the tie between Barcelona and PSG will face either Bayern Munich or Chelsea in the final of the Women's Champions League.
