'Super cross' - Ex-Norwich star Ekoku says Iheanacho made amends for conceding penalty vs Saints
Published: April 30, 2021Kelechi Iheanacho is enjoying a purple patch at the moment, either scoring or producing an assist in seven of his last eight matches in the English Premier League.
In tonight's fixture between Southampton and Leicester City at St. Mary's Stadium, the home team got a share of the spoils against all the odds as they played with a man down for 80 minutes due to Jannik Vestergaard's red card.
Kelechi Iheanacho conceded a penalty - correctly awarded by referee Robert Jones in the 61st minute - after handling the ball in the area.
Speaking during commentary on the Premier League world feed, former Norwich City striker Ekoku noted that the in-form Leicester striker atoned for his error when he provided the assist for the equaliser scored by Jonny Evans on 68 minutes .
"It's a delicious ball in the end - super cross. Jonny Evans is on the move and the two center halves were a bit slow to react to that," 1994 AFCON winner Ekoku said.
"Jonny Evans, he's just to make any kind of contact really from that distance, it's going to result in a goal.
"Iheanacho has made amends with a superb assist for Jonny Evans."
