Snapped : Nigeria-eligible teenager arrives with Arsenal squad for match vs West Brom
Published: May 09, 2021Nigeria-eligible teenager Arthur Okonkwo is at the Emirates Stadium in London ahead of Arsenal's Premier League meeting with West Brom this evening.
The highly-rated goalkeeper was videoed arriving with the Arsenal first team players around one and a half hours before kickoff.
Manager Mikel Arteta has announced his matchday 20 and Okonkwo is not part of the group, meaning he was picked as the extra goalkeeper just in case Bernd Leno and Rúnar Alex Rúnarsson suffer an injury in the pre-match warm-up.
The 19-year-old watched proceedings from the bench as Arsenal were eliminated from the UEFA Europa League after playing out a disappointing goalless draw with Villarreal on Thursday.
Okonkwo's other squad involvements were against Villarreal at the La Cerámica and Olympiakos at the Emirates Stadium.
Meanwhile, Super Eagles center back Semi Ajayi has been named in West Brom's starting lineup against his former club.
A defeat will see the Baggies end their one-year stay in the Premier League as they currently trail seventeenth-placed Burnley by ten points.
