Three youngsters of Nigerian descent train with Arsenal first team pre-Crystal Palace
Published: May 18, 2021On Monday, Arsenal held their penultimate training session before their Premier League clash against Crystal Palace, with three youngsters of Nigerian descent in attendance at London Colney.
Manager Mikel Arteta continues to run the rule over Folarin Balogun with a view to handing the 19-year-old a Premier League debut.
Goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo and left-back Tolaji Bola were also observed at close quarters by the Spanish football tactician.
None of the aforementioned players of Nigerian descent have been included in a matchday squad for an English top-flight game but they have been with the squad as an extra player.
Two matches to the end of the 2020-2021 season, there is a remote chance of the Gunners qualifying for European competition, thus, it is likely that Arteta will choose his strongest possible squad for the match against the Eagles.
Arteta handed professional debuts to Balogun and midfielder Miguel Azeez in this season's Europa League.
The north London side will battle the Eagles at Selhurst Park (London) on Wednesday, May 19, starting from 1900 hours.
