Anjorin training with Chelsea first team ahead of UEFA Champions League final
Published: May 27, 2021Nigeria-eligible winger Faustino Anjorin is in contention to be included in Chelsea's traveling party to Portugal, where they face fellow Premier League side Manchester City in the Champions League final on May 29.
The England youth international has been training with the first team players this week under the guidance of manager Thomas Tuchel.
Anjorin was involved in the Blues' last workout on Wednesday and wore a yellow bib during the training session held at Cobham.
The 19-year-old is the second player of Nigerian descent with a remote chance of featuring in the final, the other being Manchester City attacking midfielder Felix Nmecha, who has been registered by the current Premier League champions for the knockout rounds of the competition.
Anjorin has made two matchday squads for this season's Champions League - against Krasnodar and Atlético Madrid on matchday six and last sixteen second leg respectively.
Chelsea and Manchester City will face off in the third all-English final in European Cup history when they meet at the Estádio do Dragão, Porto on Saturday.
