Ex-Real Madrid center-back Ohale on target against European champions Barcelona Femeni
Published: June 06, 2021Former Real Madrid central defender Osinachi Ohale netted her second goal in Madrid CFF's colours as they were beaten 3-2 by European champions Barcelona in a Primera División Femenina clash at the Estadi Johan Cruyff (Sant Joan Despí) on Sunday afternoon.
Three Super Eagles stars were included in their respective teams starting lineup, with Ohale and Rita Chikwelu starting for the visitors and Asisat Oshoala starting for the home team.
Madrid CFF took the lead on two occasions but were unable to hold on to it, with Barcelona equalizing each time before grabbing a 73rd minute winner.
Experienced winger Priscila Borja opened the scoring with less fifteen seconds played but a minute later Bruna Vilamala leveled for the Catalans.
Oshoala had two clear cut chances to put Barcelona ahead but wasted the opportunities, before her international teammate Ohale made it 2-1 following a set-piece on 38 minutes.
Ohale's other strike for Madrid CFF was in a 4-2 home loss to Granadilla Tenerife back in April.
With two games to the end of the 2020-2021 season, already-crowned champions Barcelona are 17 points ahead of Real Madrid, while Madrid CFF are seventh in the table with 51 points accumulated.
