Super Eagles hopeful reacts as Tomori ends 16-year association with Chelsea with Milan move
Published: June 17, 2021Onetime Nigeria Football Federation target Fikayo Tomori has ended a sixteen-year association with Chelsea following a permanent transfer to Italian giants AC Milan.
The Blues have informed via their official website that the 2017 U20 World Cup winner with England will complete a permanent transfer from Chelsea to AC Milan on 1 July.
Tomori made made 22 appearances for the Rossoneri, scoring once, during a loan spell in the second half of last season.
Shortly after the permanent deal was announced, the center back posted on Instagram : "ROSSONERO! Since the day I arrived in Milan, I was welcomed with open arms, and now I am here to stay!
"I’m ready for this new challenge with this GREAT club. I can’t wait to see you all soon in the San Siro. FORZA MILAN".
Super Eagles hopeful Ike Ugbo was among the Instagram users that responded to Tomori's post.
He said : "Ibramorii!!!"
Ugbo is also set to end his long-term affiliation with Chelsea before the close of the summer transfer window.
The former England U17 international, who joined Chelsea at U10 level, is in advanced talks with Eintracht Frankfurt, Watford and Racing Genk over a permanent transfer.
