West Ham manager Moyes takes 2002-born Nigerian striker to training camp in Scotland
Premier League side West Ham United returned to pre-season training on Monday, July 5 ahead of the 2021-2022 campaign.

Manager David Moyes has taken Nigerian center forward Mipo Odubeko to the Hammers training camp in Scotland.

West Ham's internationals such as Declan Rice, Tomas Soucek, Vladimir Coufal, Lukasz Fabianski and Andriy Yarmolenko have yet to report for pre-season training due to their involvements with their national teams this summer.

Moyes and his assistant Stuart Pearce have been putting a blend of first team and academy players through their paces including Odubeko.

Monday and Tuesday's sessions focused on running and physical drills, and the players also worked with the ball.

Barring an injury, Odubeko should play a part in at least one of the upcoming friendlies with Dundee (July 9), Leyton Orient and Northampton Town (July 13).

The 18-year-old was very much on the periphery of West Ham's first team in 2020-2021, training with the squad on countless occasions and went on to play two games in the FA Cup.

The former Manchester United schoolboy was in exceptional form for West Ham youth teams last season, scoring 14 goals in 12 games and was named Premier League 2 Player of the Month for April.
