'Some of the best times of my career' - Ex-Spurs starlet Madueke reveals how he joined Palace
Tottenham Hotspur academy product Nonso Madueke has revealed how his move to Crystal Palace came about.

The England U21 international of Nigerian descent was a schoolboy at The Eagles for two years before joining Tottenham Hotspur, from where he moved to PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2018 after turning down a scholarship.

London-born Madueke took the risk of moving abroad to actualize his dream of playing first-team football.

The 19-year-old was fully promoted to PSV's first team after impressing the coaches during a winter training camp in Qatar in January 2020.

Madueke has confessed that he experienced some of his best moments as a footballer during his time at the Palace academy.

Shedding more light on how he started his football journey, Madueke told Rising Ballers : "I was begging my parents to put me into a Sunday league team. And then just at the end of it, a Palace scout came to me at a tournament I was playing at with King George and just said he likes my ability.

"Some of the best times of my career so far have been when I was a young player there from U10s to U12s.

"I learnt a lot and it was really like my kick-start in my football journey. I appreciate them a lot."

An attacking midfielder and winger, Madueke tallied 25 goals in 22 games during his U16 season at Tottenham Hotspur.
