Nigeria manager begins checking out Leicester City, BK Hacken stars, 18 others in Austria training camp
Published: July 18, 2021Nigeria manager Randy Waldrum started running the rule over 21 of the 26 players invited to the training camp in Austria on Saturday, July 17, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Leicester City Women defender Ashleigh Plumptre has erased any doubts of pledging her international future to Nigeria over her country of birth, England by showing up in camp and was involved in the first training session on Austrian soil.
Other dual-eligible players in attendance include BK Hacken duo Evelyn and Josephine Ijeh, the daughters of ex-Super Eagles striker Peter Ijeh, Michelle Alozie, Nicole and Toni Payne.
Chiamaka Nnadozie, Ngozi Okobi- Okeoghene, Tochukwu Oluehi, Yetunde Balogun, Glory Ogbonna, Akudo Ogbonna, Joy Bokiri, Onyinyechi Okeke, Chidinma Okeke, Monday Gift, Rasheedat Ajibade, Iniabasi Umotong, Ohale Osinachi, Desire Oparanozie and Ebere Orji are also in camp.
Onyinyechi Zogg (FC Zurich) and Adekite Fatuga-Dada (Watford FC) are among the players yet to report for international duty .
Nine-time African champions Super Falcons are in Vienna, Austria for an eight-day training camp as part of their preparations for the Aisha Buhari Invitational Women's Football Tournament.
Lagos will host the six-nation invitational that will see the Super Falcons, Ghana's Black Queens, Cameroon's Indomitable Lionesses, Banyana Banyana of South Africa, Morocco and Mali tango in a celebratory atmosphere in the month of September for a glittering trophy named in honour of Nigeria's First Lady.
