Tottenham Hotspur using Nigeria-eligible striker as bargaining chip to land Northampton starlet
According to Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur are offering Derbyshire-born Nigeria-eligible striker Kion Etete in exchange for another striker of Nigerian descent Caleb Chukwuemeka, 19.

The authoritative website has suggested that Etete could be used as a bargaining chip in the proposed deal taking Northampton Town youngster Chukwuemeka to Tottenham.

It remains to be seen if Etete would be interested in returning to a League Two club, two years after he departed Notts County, with whom he made his professional debut as a 16-year-old in 2018.

He was invited to train with Tottenham Hotspur's first team in April before the Premier League match against Everton and has also been spotted working out with the first teamers this pre-season.

The 19-year-old has lived up to his billing as a top young talent, with 20 goals combined in 41 matches for Spurs youth teams in the U18 Premier League, Premier League 2 and UEFA Youth League.

Tottenham Hotspur are hoping the win the race for Chukwuemeka who has been linked with possible moves to other Premier League clubs as well as Scottish champions Glasgow Rangers.

A versatile striker capable of playing multiple roles in attack, Caleb is the older brother of Aston Villa central midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka.
