Rangers will be without Super Eagles star for Champions League qualifier vs Malmo
Glasgow Rangers will be without key Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun for the first leg of the third qualifying UEFA Champions League clash against Malmo at the Eleda Stadium on Tuesday evening.

As a reminder, back in March 2021, the experienced center back was dismissed for a second bookable offense in the 73rd minute of Rangers 2-0 loss to Slavia Prague in the Europa League, so will be unavailable for selection tomorrow.

Apart from Balogun, manager Steven Gerrard will not be able to call upon Kemar Roofe and Glen Kamara.

The Super Eagles star has played ten games in European competitions, consisting of eight for Rangers in last season's Europa League and two in the colours of Mainz 05 in the same competition.

Another Nigeria national teamer in Joe Aribo is in contention to be involved in some capacity against Malmo with Steven Gerrard managing his game time in the 3-0 rout of Livingston on Saturday by playing the midfielder for 64 minutes following his return to training.

Malmo are definitely not a bad team having won the Swedish Allsvenskan in 2020.

The have in their ranks Nigerian midfielder Innocent Bonke who has featured in every single game played by the club in the qualifying rounds of this season's Champions League qualifiers - four in total.
