'Everton are talking about getting rid of him' - Ex-Toffees star makes big claim about Iwobi
Former Everton striker Marcus Bent has made a big claim about Alex Iwobi, saying that the Toffees are looking at offloading him before the close of the summer transfer window.

The Super Eagles playmaker's form has been hot and cold since his big money move to the Merseyside club in the summer of 2019, scoring four goals and providing four assists in 66 appearances.

Iwobi became the most expensive Nigerian player in history after his move to Everton for a fee in the region of 35 million pounds, before the record was surpassed by Victor Osimhen last summer.

There is talk that Italian Serie A club Atalanta are interested in signing the Hale End Academy graduate this month.

Iwobi started on the bench in Everton's opening Premier League match of the season versus Southampton, but dd make an impact after his introduction by providing the assist for his team's second goal netted by Abdoulaye Doucouré.

"Everton are talking about getting rid of him. They want to get him off the wage bill, he’s a good player, but hasn’t had the time to play or show his quality, but I think they want to move him on," Bent told FootballFancast.

The 25-year-old Iwobi has three years to run on his contract with Everton.
