Bournemouth's Solanke, Bolton's Afolayan named in TOTW after their goalscoring exploits
Published: August 23, 2021Two Chelsea academy products Dominic Solanke and Oladapo Afolayan have been named in Whoscored Team of the Week for the Championship and League One respectively.
Solanke's first half-half brace in a 2-2 draw with Blackpool helped the Cherries maintain their unbeaten start to the 2021-2022 campaign after five matches in all competitions.
In a 4-4-2 formation, the out-of-favour England international was joined in attack by Birmingham City's Scott Hogan.
Rated at 8.72, Solanke played a game-high four shots with two ending up in the back of the net, made a game-high three key passes, won an aerial duel while making two tackles over the course of ninety minutes.
Afolayan curled in a long range effort past the goalkeeper on the stroke of half-time as Bolton Wanderers extended their unbeaten start to the campaign with a 2-1 win versus Oxford United.
In the League One Team of the Week, the Anglo-Nigerian started as the left-sided midfielder in a 4-4-2 formation.
Afolayan played two shots, made two key passes, won two aerial duels, completed a game-high five take-ons and won a game-high six fouls in ninety minutes of action vs Oxford United.
