Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that exactly half of the players invited for the national team's upcoming 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Liberia and Cape Verde have reported for international duty.

Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi and Adekunle Adeleke were the early birds in camp before the arrival of Premier League stars Kelechi Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi and Alex Iwobi.

Ten more players namely Moses Simon, Shehu Abdullahi, Ahmed Musa, Samuel Kalu, Oghenekaro Etebo, Francis Uzoho, Henry Onyekuru, Chidera Ejuke, Kingsley Michael and Kenneth Omeruo arrived at the team's Eko Hotels and Suites on Monday, August 30, bringing the total number to fifteen.

The aforementioned players worked out in the gym located inside the Eko Hotels for approximately thirty minutes before hitting the lawn for a light training session this evening.

The players had a game of foot-volley during the recovery session under the guidance of  manager Gernot Rohr, Joseph Yobo and Alloy Agu.

Meanwhile, Hoffenheim center back Kevin Akpoguma has been forced to pull out of the Super Eagles squad.

The German Bundesliga club informed today that the former Germany U20 skipper is self-isolating at home after testing positive for coronavirus despite being fully vaccinated and will not link up with the Nigeria national team for their World Cup qualifiers this month.
