Breaking : Chelsea product among nine players ruled out of Super Eagles WCQ vs Cape Verde
Without revealing the identities of the two other players, Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr has confirmed that he will not be able to count on the services of nine Super Eagles players for the upcoming 2022 World Cup qualifier against Cape Verde.

It was already known beforehand that seven United Kingdom-based players won't be on the plane to Cape Verde.

They are Glasgow Rangers duo Joe Aribo and Leon Balogun, Leicester City's Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho, Everton winger Alex Iwobi and Watford's William Troost-Ekong and Oghenekaro Etebo.

Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Chelsea academy product Ola Aina has not been named in the 20-player traveling party to Cape Verde after he was released from the Super Eagles camp on Friday evening.

The Torino right-back was one of six Super Eagles players to start and finish the 2-0 win versus Liberia and gave a good account of himself.

Speaking post-match, Rohr said : "There are nine players leaving, it's all the team so there will be another team, it's not easy to build another team in only two days, and to play on a synthetic pitch.

"It's the other side of the extreme situation, we are coming from a heavy grass after the rain to a dry synthetic pitch.

"We have to build another defence, another midfield. The goalscorer Kelechi will leave, so it will not be easy. It's a challenge for the staff and for the players but we have to show our solidarity.

"The players who are coming in now, it will be 20 players going to Cape Verde, so we will be able to make a good team.

"We have to manage this situation and I am believing that our team is able to bring another good performance even if it's more difficult than the game today".

Benfica loanee Tyronne Ebuehi, Omonia Nicosia's Abdullahi Shehu and Boavista's Chidozie Awaziem are the Super Eagles players who can easily slot in at right-back against Cape Verde if required, having done so on several occasions in the past.
