Reading star Ejaria among three Nigeria-eligible players named to Championship TOTW
Published: September 20, 2021Three Nigeria-eligible players including Reading midfielder Ovie Ejaria have been named to the Championship Team of the Week by Whoscored.com on the back of their outstanding performances in the last round of matches.
Joining the 2013 Nigeria U17 in the ceremonial best eleven are Bournemouth star Philip Billing and Luton Town striker Elijah Adebayo.
Ejaria bagged a brace as Reading defeated Fulham 2-1 at Craven Cottage, Billing netted the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win at Cardiff City and Adebayo netted a pair of goals as Luton Town and Swansea City shared the spoils.
In a 4-4-2 formation, Billing was one of the two central midfielders, Ejaria was deployed as a left midfielder and Adebayo started in attack.
The best rated player at 9.1, Ejaria won a joint-game high six aerial duels, had two shots on target, won a game-high four fouls, completed two take-ons, made two interceptions and two clearances.
Bournemouth's Billing registered a game-high seven shots, made two key passes, won three aerial duels, and was accurate in 73.2 percent of his passes.
Adebayo won a joint game high six aerial duels, his two shots on target ended up in the back of the net in the first half vs Swansea City, made two tackles and two clearances over the course of 90 minutes.
