Ex-Scotland star of Nigerian descent sings the praises of Glasgow Rangers midfielder Aribo
Retired Scotland international of Nigerian descent Chris Iwelumo sang the praises of Joe Aribo after Glasgow Rangers' 1-0 win over Dundee in a Scottish Premiership clash on Saturday.

The Super Eagles midfielder has shown that he can be relied on for goals and assists in recent matches, notching three (2 goals, 1 assist) in his last five games in the Scottish top-flight.

Aribo netted what proved to be the winning goal against Dundee, lifting the ball over goalkeeper Adam Legzdins to break the deadlock after a delightful pass from Alfredo Morelos in the seventeenth minute.

Iwelumo was impressed by Aribo's skillset and his moment of magic that saw Steven Gerrard's team secure all three points.

"It leaves Aribo over the top," Iwelumo said to BBCSportscene via Ibrox News.

"It’s a fantastic touch if you look at that. It’s a great touch and finish from Aribo there."

Ex-Liverpool captain Gerrard has made the most of the versatility offered by his number 17 by deploying him as an attacking midfielder, right midfielder, left midfielder, central midfielder and winger this season.

Barring an injury, Aribo will be named in the Super Eagles squad for their upcoming 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Central African Republic.
