UCL: One-cap USA international of Nigerian descent named in Club Brugge traveling squad
Published: September 27, 2021Nigeria-eligible central midfielder Owen Otasowie was named in Club Brugge's traveling party to Germany, where they will face RB Leipzig in a Champions League clash at the Red Bull Arena on Tuesday.
The one-cap United States international inked a four-year contract with the Belgian champions in the summer transfer window but has yet to make his competitive debut for the Blue-Black.
He was a non-playing substitute in Jupiler Pro League matches against KAA Gent and RSC Charleroi.
Otasowie has appeared in only one European match since turning professional, against Besiktas in a Europa League tie in December 2019 during his time with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Meanwhile, another summer signing of Nigerian descent, Antonio Nusa has been included again in Club Brugge's squad list for the UEFA Youth League.
The Norwegian-Nigerian winger started against Paris Saint-Germain in the opening round of matches in Group A.
Club Brugge U19s face off with RB Leipzig at Trainingszentrum RB Leipzig Platz 1 on Tuesday, starting from 1300 hours.
